How Can You Help? Maria Response, Irma & Harvey Recovery

Written By: TMSA Staff | Sep 21, 2017 12:00:00 AM

From Kathy Fulton, Executive Director, American Logistics Aid Network (www.ALANaid.org)

Today Hurricane Maria battered St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands, and left the island of Puerto Rico completely without power. The storm lost some strength after striking Puerto Rico, but is expected to regain intensity as it moves northward on Thursday. The situation in the Caribbean continues to unfold, but ALAN has already engaged to assist with the logistics of moving tarps, meals, and clean-up supplies for non-profit responders. As we shared last night, many of these organizations are launching their efforts from airports in Florida. Please consider supporting those transportation requests.

Our work also continues for recovery operations in Texas and Louisiana. We are updating our open needs list, but transportation continues to be the number one request. Many businesses are willing to donate food and other needed items, but are unable to take on the transportation cost. Please let us know if you are willing to assist.

Open Needs
- Refrigerated transportation UT, PA, IL to FL
- Transportation PA to FL
- Volunteer driver daily Dallas to Houston

Continuity of Supply Chain Activities
We are compiling a list of resources for continuity of supply chain operations, based on questions we’ve received over the past month. If there are items you’d like to have included, please share them with us at Ops@ALANAid.org.

Thanks for all you continue to do to support those affected by hurricanes and other disasters. For additional info, check our website: www.alanaid.org/sitreps

ALAN is a 501(c)(3) organization which relies upon the generosity of individuals and businesses to conduct our operations, and is a member of TMSA.
