The Board of Directors of the Transportation Marketing & Sales Association (TMSA) is pleased to announce Jennifer Karpus-Romain as the new Executive Director of TMSA.
Jennifer has been active in the association for several years, serving on the education committee and the Board of Directors, as well as leading the marketing committee. Her energy, leadership, and passion for both the association and the logistics industry, will serve TMSA well as she ushers in a new chapter for the association.
“With each passing year, I’ve become more and more engaged with TMSA and its member base --- both as a volunteer and long-standing affiliate member. I am excited to hit the ground running and take the legacy and performance of TMSA to new heights. As a non-profit, TMSA has so much opportunity to give back to the logistics community. I am honored to be able to step into this role and continue its long track-record of serving the industry.”
Outside of TMSA, Jennifer has previously held roles in the publishing, marketing and technology industries, as well as managed her own content and publishing firm. From journalism to PR to marketing, she has thrived in adapting to different segments and creating new ways to connect with and serve audiences.
This shift in leadership comes after the association’s current management company, MindShare Strategies, Inc., announced its desire to end their relationship with TMSA at the end of 2020. The Officers on the Board of Directors have led the search for new leadership, culminating in Jennifer Karpus-Romain’s appointment.
“This is an exciting time in the longstanding history of TMSA. The leadership and guidance of MindShare Strategies over the last 20+ years has allowed our association to flourish both in terms of membership and in the value we provide to our members,” said Tom Collins, President of TMSA. “As sad as we are to see MindShare leave, we are extremely excited to have Jennifer as our Executive Director. Her energy and enthusiasm for our association and our industry is second to none, and we are looking forward to what the future holds for TMSA with Jennifer at the helm."
As Brian Everett, senior partner with MindShare Strategies retires from his management role in TMSA, he says: “I’ve been honored to lead this organization for years in providing sales and marketing professionals with unique and innovative education, connections and resources. For several years, I’ve worked with Jennifer Karpus-Romain as an active member and leader of TMSA. I’m thrilled she will be transitioning to this new leadership role. Her leadership will be highly valued by TMSA as it explores opportunities to provide even more great benefits to its members.”
In addition to TMSA’s Executive Director appointment, we are also pleased to share that Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Denny Grim, has stepped into a newly created role, leading growth and development for the association. Denny brings deep relationships and a wealth of knowledge to TMSA as we forge into the future.
This change of leadership also marks a shift in headquarters location, moving from Waconia, Minnesota to Cleveland, Ohio.
