Newly Formed Diversity Chairperson Board of Directors Role and Taskforce Take Center Stage
NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio – The Transportation Marketing & Sales Association (TMSA) has announced the creation of a Diversity Chairperson role on its Board of Directors, as well as a DEI Taskforce, as critical elements for its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programming and initiatives.
“The first step to creating any DEI initiative is to be honest with yourself on where your organization is and where you’d like to go. I am proud that TMSA’s Board of Directors is currently 40 percent female and we are also 100 percent female at TMSA headquarters, but we have so many ways we can continue to grow,” said Jennifer Karpus-Romain, Executive Director at TMSA.
The DEI Chairperson and Taskforce will assist headquarters in efforts that ensure TMSA culture and environment values and enhances Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across the entire TMSA community. This new role is open to all who serve in such capacities. Interested parties can apply for the Diversity Chairperson seat on the TMSA Board of Directors here. TMSA applications will be accepted through Friday, March 17, 2023.
These DEI efforts directly tie into the nearly 100-year association’s mission to be the only association dedicated to advancing the success of marketing and sales professionals in all areas of supply chain logistics. These professionals are tasked in their own companies with revenue growth, customer experience, marketing, branding, and conveying company culture.
“We will serve future generations of supply chain professionals better through diversifying all aspects of our organization. The creation of this Chair Board seat and Taskforce serves as a catalyst to where TMSA can go,” said Mark Derks, President of TMSA and Chief Marketing Officer of BlueGrace Logistics.
