TMSA is a volunteer-led professional association, and we have built the strength of our community as an association through the hard work, dedication, creativity, and strategic leadership of our volunteer leaders. The third of a three-part series recognizing our volunteer leaders, this article recognizes the members at large of the TMSA Board of Directors - individuals who volunteer their time, talent, and expertise to help the organization become the best it can be in serving marketing, sales and business leaders in the transportation and logistics industry.
Lina Acosta, Chief Marketing Officer, GLT Logistics, gives back in knowledge and empowerment to the industry. She's volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors at the TMSA and as the Vice President of Programs and Marketing Chair for the CSCMP South Florida Roundtable. "I have also created with GLT an educational program for people working in the logistics and supply chain business called GLT Logistics Sessions," says Acosta. "These sessions are events that offer insightful material about specific business topics, providing information and tools that attendees can apply on a daily basis, boosting efficiency and developing higher skills in the people of our industry." In fact, earlier in February Lina hosted TMSA's CEO Brian Everett to present a session in Miami on the importance of marketing, sales, and business strategy in transportation and logistics.
Andrew Bailey, Manager, Content Strategy, FedEx Services has been part of the marketing team at FedEx since 2002 and holds an MBA from The University of Memphis. He formerly has been an active member with the TMSA Recognition Committee, has served as a past TMSA Compass Awards Judge, and also is a Compass award winner. Drew is a high-energy individual who is passionate about everything he throws himself into. Why is Drew involved in TMSA? One reason is the solid education he receives through his involvement in the organization, In fact, at a recent TMSA Logistics Marketing & Sales Conference he spoke with keynote Joe Pulizzi, founder of the Content Marketing Institute, and made significant recommendations to change FedEx's content marketing approach based upon what he learned at TMSA.
Jahan Byrne, Director of Marketing, Matson Logistics, is a long-time member of TMSA. Jahan has extensive marketing and business development experience in maritime logistics with such organizations as The Pasha Group, Horizon Lines, the Port of Oakland, and American President Lines. He has previously been active in the TMSA Education Committee and the Recognition Committee, and is a TMSA Compass Award winner. He's given some of his leadership and expertise in such special TMSA initiatives as providing strategic direction for TMSA's pending certification programs and is a former TMSA Compass Awards Judge.
Donia Crime, Vice President Corporate Communications, Landstar is a strategic communications professional who has brand positioning, messaging and story telling at the core of her career passion. She is responsible for advertising, brand awareness, PR, digital marketing and all external communications for Landstar and its operating companies. She holds her MA in Communication Law from Georgia State University and a BA in Communications from the University of North Florida. In 2019 she helped to lead a member satisfaction research project - and this year she is a 2020 TMSA Compass Awards Judge.
Chuck Everett, Director of Business Development, Red Classic Transportation Services, is a goal-oriented manager who works tirelessly to achieve his professional goals. His philosophy in his career: As a manager I am no stronger than those I surround myself with. Along with serving on the TMSA Board of Directors, Chuck also lends his energy to the TMSA Sales Advisory Council, which is a group of sales executives who are helping TMSA to identify new value the association can bring to the sales discipline in transportation and logistics. Part of the role of the council is to serve as a “sounding board” to ideas generated by our committees.
Chris Huff, Regional Vice President - Sales, ArcBest,
is responsible for leading a talented team of sales professionals in nine states in the U.S. and four Canadian provinces (including Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, British Columbia, Calgary, Saskatchewan, and Winnepeg). He is a new member of the TMSA Board of Directors, and is a 2020 TMSA Compass Awards Judge.
Patrick McFarland, Director of Marketing, ITS Logistics, is responsible for corporate branding, marketing, advertising, sales support, internal and external communications, PR, community outreach, online content and social media strategy there. Patrick is a relatively new member of the TMSA Board of Directors and is one of TMSA's biggest advocates as he "talks up" the association's value to his professional and provider network. In 2020, he is setting his sights on getting more active on the TMSA Membership Committee.
John Meier, Director of Marketing, ODW Logistics, has proven expertise in combining market research, innovation, and business acumen with strong leadership, collaboration, and organization to successfully deliver strategic branding, marketing tactics, and program launches. He holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing from The Ohio State University. He is a relatively new member of the TMSA Board of Directors and also serves on the Advisory Board for the Columbus Region Logistics Council. He is a 2020 TMSA Compass Awards Judge.
Chris Peer is President/CEO of SyncShow, a leading digital marketing and sales improvement firm focused on helping companies in transportation and logistics to increase brand awareness, attract new customers, and land more business. His firm has been a TMSA Sponsor and Exhibitor in 2019 and now in 2020, and Chris provides a voice for Affiliate members on the TMSA Board of Directors. Chris also serves on the TMSA Marketing Committee.
Greg Recht, Vice President, Integrated Logistics, Kenco, is a sales and marketing executive with 18 years experience providing business process outsourced and 3PL services to Fortune 1000 organizations. He is the 2019 "TMSA Sales Executive of the Year" and participates on the TMSA Sales Advisory Council.
Mike Rude, Vice President - FedEx Cross Border, has been with the FedEx organization for 20 years. He has served on the TMSA Board of Directors for four years, and has formerly served on the TMSA Membership Committee. Mike holds his MBA in Finance and Marketing from The University of Memphis.
Ken Uriu, Marketing Manager, Port of Long Beach, has 15+ years experience in the business development and promotion of international trade. Through his years of experience he has built an expertise in the market of intermodal transportation and logistics of cargo movement with a strong emphasis on the ocean carrier industry. Ken also is a TMSA Compass Award winner.
